kenz

what did you think of that btw?

mabrymusic
2nd-June-2008, 10:53 PM
it's probably considered more grime than anything...but dizzee rascal, wiley, kano, westbeech, the streets, etc.

kenz
2nd-June-2008, 10:55 PM
yeh thats grime, not a massive fan of it, but i do listen to it here and there, i treat grime like dance music, dont really take it too serious but its good to listen to of you about to go out or somethin, it gets you pumped

dizzee rascal first album was brilliant, wiley im a bit hit and miss with, kano is cool, but i get bored of, i dont like the streets,

mabrymusic
2nd-June-2008, 10:57 PM
the streets took me a while actually...i had to listen to his first album a few times before i was diggin it...his most recent album kinda sucks tho...

oh, yeah...and lady sovereign is sick too...like the female version of eminem with her delivery

kenz
2nd-June-2008, 11:00 PM
ah i think we have very different tastes in uk stuff then lol
no one likes lady sovereign over here, it was such a massive shcok when she signed to def jam

mabrymusic
2nd-June-2008, 11:12 PM
lol...yeah....hova loved her....there again, it took me a second to get into her...i didn't just hear her and fall in love...i must have heard 5 or 6 songs before i could get into it...aside from that handful of artists i mentioned above, i really haven't heard anyone else....oh, unless you count 'goldie lookin chain'...and they suck :)

kenz
2nd-June-2008, 11:18 PM
im glad you said GLC suck, i caught the name out the corner of my eye, an i thought "oh no, whats coming!" lol but yeh they suck big time

it depends what your in to really, i mean i could recomend some real lyrical stuff, but i dont blame you for not bein interested cos youve already got lyrical american stuff

I dont like Grime, and thats all I hear really, never any proper hip-hop from our shores. I dont mind Dizzee Rascal, some Kano tracks, some Roll Deep, but im not overly keen. I love Original Pirate Material, one of my favourite albums, but I cant even put a genre on that, shame The Streets have got worse over time and are now complete shite in all honesty.

Who would you recommend checking out Mega?

GLC are just a joke group really though, I used to find some of the songs funny when they were first around and I was like 16. Would never listen to them seriously though :D

Yeah that was me :) Im liking it, ive only listened to the first one (Urban Jungle?), havent given the self titled mix a listen yet. I was blasting it out on Sunday through my speakers, sounds rubbish through the laptop so I have to wait untill its sociable hours and my house is empty to really appreciate it :D I love Dub Moods, thats exactly my kind of thing. And it was good to see some recognizable tunes on there, although I prefer the original version of Me or the Papes than Aphrodite version, still good though :)

mabrymusic
3rd-June-2008, 12:26 AM
track 7 is 'man of steel'....basically, it's the superman theme with a drum n bass beat behind it...it's fucking nuts

kenz
3rd-June-2008, 12:37 AM
oh right, im no good with names of tracks, i wouldnt even be able to name the tracks of sagas of that i gave you or illmatic or something

mabrymusic
3rd-June-2008, 12:40 AM
well, i knew the songs were on there, but i had to cheat and look in the folder to tell you the track numbers...aphrodite is from way back in my x-poppin days...lol

kenz
3rd-June-2008, 12:43 AM
its generally considered that dance music goes hand in hand with E but have you ever tried to listen to hip hop or rock on it? its fuckin terrible, makes me really anxious n shit lol

mabrymusic
3rd-June-2008, 12:46 AM
i could do certain rock stuff, r&b, etc...but not all of it...of course, it was all the tweakers who were fucked up on meth that got into all the drum-n-bass shit when we would go to parties...for whatever reason (maybe i was on speedy pills) i loved all that mess too...used to get into a lot of acid-breakbeat too....damn, those were the days!!! haha

mabrymusic
3rd-June-2008, 12:50 AM
