Seeing as the other thread has gone slightly off-course, I've opened up a new thread to discuss the game. I'm sure there are people who wish to keep content of the game a surprise, so please take appropriate action if anything you wish to discuss could be considered a spoiler (e.g. plot).

So, what sort of random stuff have you seen? Any 'wow' moments, or any nice touches that show the level of detail Rockstar have gone to with this game. Or just any opinions on the game as a whole. And what about the multi-player?

Played it this weekend at a friends house and it looked nice, to drunk to judge though.

havent played but saw vids. i think its cool how he takes each step individually when going up/down stairs.

It's nice, but can be irritating if your in a hurry, so I tend to jump down some stairs.

I've been doing quite well in ranked deathmatches. I haven't played much recently, but I'm always in the top 3.

have you noticed how when you jump onto a car or over a car, it does actually look real? like, he pushes himself onto it and stuff?

the cops are great, very different.

and the death physics, when you get shot, or run over, or hit by a car and stuff, mad.

you still can, new level of realism, so it is harder, but nothing is stopping u :)


and i havent killed either yet, not up to it at the moment..

what are the benefits if u kill either?

i need help! D: the last mission ( A Revenger's Tragedy) when i was chasing dimitri's helicopter n fall down then rode a boat to chased him after that i need to go Little Jacob's helicopter underneath it, but i couldnt reach it all the time, at certain point jacob's heli will fly away to chased dimitri leaving u and boom! mission fail Dx

Still taking my sweet time to complete it. Got a feeling it's the multiplayer rather than the sanbox-iness that is going to preserve longevity though.

so i got my xbox back on friday and couldnt turn away . i beat it by sunday (20 hours)
and have been doing a bunch of side stuff sicne then, thats why ive been missing from the forums for the past week or so.
but im back now, lol

it was such a good game.
the only thing that i didnt like was the driving took a while to get used too. and certain cooperative online modes cant be done in a party like deal breaker, hangmans noose, and bomb da base II.

but overall its a great game, and id give it a 9.5 out of 10.

I was doing this for a while, but then I realised I was spoiling it. I started getting bored of the game, so I started driving everywhere again and enjoyed it alot more. I saw somebody write somewhere "Whats the point in this amazing city if you take the taxis everywhere", it made me realise I was missing out. Now I only take them if I fail a mission a few times.

We dont have spoiler tags so i'll make my own, I need some help regarding the car theft missions. Its not like a proper storyline spoiler, just to do with the side missions, I just dont want to give any names away.

So yeah, Brucie phoned me once and said he would give my number to steve, problem is I havent heard from steve but the garage icon is on my map near my safehouse in Bohan. Ive done all of the other missions for Brucie, havent finished all of the races though. So is there anyway to find out what car I need to steal first as I havent had the text?

I think the car and locations are unique to each game, my friend got a Dukes in Bohan, he told me exactly where it was but when I want it wasnt there. Does the blokes (Steve/Stevie) phone number appear in your phonebook when he texts you because I still dont have his number :( I cant think of anyway to get him to resend the text. Im sure I would of seen it come through and remembered it, but I have no memory of it happening it. I delete all my messages aswell, so maybe I deleted it accidentally.

I havent done any missions for a while, but I think the last major ones I did were (very big spoiler) where you have to choose between Derek and Francis, and then the funeral mission afterwards. Since that ive just been doing the assasination missions. (highlight to read obv) Its just thrown me that the garage icon is on my screen already, but because I dont have his number I still hold onto hope that he WILL be in touch again :D




Actually thats a lie, the mission im up to "Shes a Keeper", which is the kidnap mission for Gerry where you have to take the woman from Alderny to Algonquin. :)

then i would say after you progress a bit more he will txt u. what percentage you on? he txts u i think between 45 to 55% [of just mission stuff].

I have to say, i'm wayyyy dissapointed in this game, just more of the same imo. Only thing different is the storyline, which is nice for once.

I like vice city's storyline more...to take control and have power in the city..

graphics might not be made for that. and mate, vice city had a decent story, but this story was awesome, it basically has no happy ending, which is great, cos at the end of the day, how many people that go through that stuff would have a happy ending? there will always be a couple feelings that switch ya between highs and lows mate, really compare vice city and gtaIV and u will see, the depth is amazing.
