Phpbb3 is horrible. Its in RC7 i beileve now and i beta it it is horrible. PHPBB is sooo bloated and over hyped. and it hardly comes with any adminsitrative tools that VB comes with. if you dont like VB so much then leave.

Yeah. The limit is a bit too high. 5 was about right on AB, the the [b][b] trick doesn't work here. Either that or disable the post count for short messages (and have no direct limit on their length), assuming that's possible.

i know that this thread has kind of been dead for a while now but i've thought of a good suggestion that might come in handy here. i've noticed this on a couple of other boards that i visited and i thought that i might just throw it up and see what everybody else thinks so that maybe we can work towards getting it here. it is a section right on the main page of the forum either at the very bottom of the page or very top that shows 'Top 5 Stats'. what i've noticed on the other boards that have this is that the main 'Top 5 Stats' shown are hottest threads, most viewed threads, most popular forums, and newest members. and like the name states is it would should the top 5 in those categories. as i mentioned i just wanted to throw this out there and see if anybody else thought this would be a good addition.

its ok to have it, but the majority of "top 5 threads" or "hottest threads" will be those that have no meaning. ie. what are you listening to know?

Indeed i think the answered threads should go in to an answered archive but i dont think the unanswered threads should go to a trash but i do think they should be moved after like a month or so or you can just keep the unanswered ones where they are and just move the answered ones.

I think after like 4-6 months unanswered threads should be moved to a trash.

Agreed but i also think the answered threads should be moved to a section like AB had if you remember that. It makes for much less clutter and makes the forum look cleaner and more organized.That way i can tell if its answered without having to open it.

that's kind of what i was thinking. i sorta of just worded it confusing because that's what i was trying to go for. i don't know exactly how you all had it setup on AB due to that fact that i was never active on the forums. but i think the main idea for this is just to (as you mentioned) keep the forum clean and organized.

To be honest, what difference does it make. You still need to use the search feature to find your particular album anyway. Where is the clutter? Answered posts are being closed, the lock beside the post indicates the post is closed.

new forum idea that i just thought of considering the fact of the trouble that some people have been experiencing over the last day or so due to the changes. my suggestion is that someone either create a thread or a sticky where everyone can add their IM names or whatever at so that we may be able to contact each other if we are locked out of the site due to changes just so everyone knows what's going on. i've seen it on a few other forums before and it was actually quite handy. what does everybody else think?

code is bad since IMHO people can embed viruses , trojans, scripts to kill the forum.

In advance you can code your links by highlighting the link and hit the # button and it will code the link.

just a suggestion that i thought i would throw in here instead of starting a new topic. this may have already been discussed a while back to but not sure. would it be possible that when posting things such music to include the album cover and a tracklist instead of just a link to download. the same could go for movies with screenshots and a plots, and programs with screenshots and some info. i have just been noticing a lot of just plain old links lately that's why i'm just throwing this out there. i mean for big posts like a complete discography or something along those lines it will not be necessary but just for a simple single post would it be possible to have everyone provide more than just the links?

Dont forget the added images must be uploaded to an image hosting site and not hot linked to a source, such as g-ecx.images-amazon.com

Ok ive got a similar pack, but obviously its not identical because I had to add and remove some manually. Some of them I couldnt find/remember, like a police smiley I seem to remember, and possibly another devil one, but I think the style is pretty similar.

Obviously its only a suggestion, I wouldnt want you to add it if other members were unhappy with it, and it would most likely need trimming down because of how many there are in the pack.

Hey rudolg, I got your PM but I think that rather than have my personal favourite 10 it would would be better for the forum to decide as a whole. I'll post them all up and people can have their say on which ones they prefer and would like to see on the site :)

Im not sure how many images I can have per post so it may be over multiple posts.

Photobucket seems to of messed up the moving images, but in the other pack and when/if they are added the crazy shadow effect wont be in place.
