i was recently going through all of the old junk that i have stored on my computer when i came across this little program i threw together in visual basic. it's kinda like a prank windows error basically. i saw something quite similar to it on some site a few years back and thought i would give it a go myself and see what i could come up with.

let me know what you all think of it as i might be getting back into some visual basic programming again and i would really like the input.
*Note: the EXE file is located in the bin folder and it is called fun.exe. just for those of you that may not know exactly which file to run. i just threw everything into a RAR archive because i wasn't exactly sure what files would be needed. also i believe that you have to have at least Microsoft's .NET framework 1.1 in order for it to run. just run the programming and when you try to click one of the buttons watch what happens.

i don't remember exactly what Visual Basic it was that i was using since it's been over a year. also i am not able to post my exact copy for you because me Professor "borrowed" and i haven't seen it since. however i did manage to find a copy of Visual Basic 6 Enterprise Edition. it is posted here:

for java websites and stuff, the entire API (application program interface - basically all the built in features) documentation and a whole lot of tutorials can be found on the sun website at java.sun.com
also try javaalmanac.com, which has a lot of examples of how to use parts of the API too. my friend also told me a website that seemed great the other day, but now i've forgotten the URL. i'll get back to you on that, if you're interested.
also, you'd need to look up the object oriented programming paradigm, cos you're not gonna get very far in java before learning about that!
as for css, it's one of the simplest things to learn, but it's so powerful it's incredible! the book i learnt from is listed below:

it's not confusing - the perfect learner's language for anyone considering getting into serious programming in the long run. teaches you all the classic program constructs and the now immensely popular object orietned paradigm
if you want confusing try some assembler or one of the many functional languages!

and also, you don't really need to remember it all, as long as you understand the language constructs and syntax of each language all you need is a reference book and you're ok. nobody remembers everything - especially when it comes to learning a lot of programming languages.
i have come into contact with probably at least 15 languages and i can't say i remmeber a lot of any of them - however since i understand their principles all i'd need was a book and i could do go from there

no, my teachers were nazis.
we had to do it all in notepad
so if we made one mistake we couldnt find it easily.
it sucked., it would take hours to find one error.
