High prices don't really disuade people from driving, the roads are still swamped with traffic. Yet, higher prices will only create a situation where people can't get to work. I'm now spending half of my income to pay for transportation to work and university. That's a bit ridiculous.

It's a matter of perspective. To a country being invaded, a defensive war is necessary, unless you want to be assimilated by the invaiding country. However, an offensive war is not always necessary. I say not always, because the offensive war of the allies against Germany was necessary in order to liberate those countries which fell under the offensive war initiated by Germany. In other words, self defense and defense of ones allies is sometimes necessary. An offensive war in Darfur seems necessary right now as well, in order to defend the innocent people who are be subjicated to genocide.

If solely for isolating the sound to you own ears, then big fuck off headphones are better. I've got a nice pair of wireless ones that do the trick. Not top of the range or anything, but as I just said, they do the trick.

However, buds are better for portable devices (iPod, etc). They don't get in the way, easy to store when not in use, and you don't look like a mong.
