couldn't think where else to post this, and seeing there's some fonts posted in here already, thought it'd be best place!

i'm after a specific font (font family to be specific) called itc giovanni. i have found a torrent with both mac and windows (maybe they're unix which is why i'm having problems) version of this font but neither seem to work properly.

so, could anyone find a windows version of this font (i don't necessarily need the whole family, just the plain version!)?

or if somebody knows a thing or two about fonts, do they know how to convert fonts to true type (windows)? if you like i could upload the versions i have which do not work on windows.

I'll keep looking for the TrueType fonts for you, but for now you can use those Type 1's incase you already have them

Well, thanks. That other one works, and has all the whole family. No TT fonts but type 1 works fine, maybe he didnt know that, or didnt get type one with the one he is mentioning

Ya, I hope so, the font was made in 04/05 and all links I find are dead. That one does have the MAC? Fonts as well, but each set (115 of them) also have the Type 1 Font as well.

Hopefully those will do him, I did see some singles of fonts not included by ITC, but he only wanted the one anyway, hopefully 115 will do aight, but it may be the same torrent he already grabbed, if so he must not know type one works aight.

And to Mr.Nicksta, you do not need to install each one separately with the install .inf's you can just copy the font you want to your font folder.

Or open the ones you want to use with windows font viewer, and then open your imaging app and then you wont even have to install them

this is what i do when i use fonts i maybe use only one time

i even open the font with irfan view or ACDsee and minimize the window...and than open the prog i need it font for

Irfanview opens fonts? WOW I never knew that!

I use it often because you can have more then one instance of it open with several movies

thanks lsd! i only want the one font because my brother wants it to use for his band's logo, but i always appreciate some extra fonts for when i do design anyways!

it wasn't the same torrent that i grabbed. the only torrent i could find with the font in was 600mb - there were like 10,000 fonts in it, and not one of them actually worked!!! they were all labelled as being 0kb in size for some reason.

hopefully these will do the trick. btw what's the difference between type 1 and ttf?

EDIT: getting "unexpected end of archive" message in winrar, but it allows me to extract the folder i want, but when i try to install the font, it claims there are none in the folder. and if i try to copy them to the font folder, windows first says there is no respective .pfb file and then says the .afm it says they are invalid! peculiar! any suggestions?

you might have had a bad download, i download and extracted the single font your after and uploaded to RS.

cheers for the piece on font differences too, was a long 'un so coulnd't be bothered to read it all (although it could be an interesting read for the future) but enough to find out the high level differeces - opposing companies, opposing technologies

....now i've got the font, time to get that logo done for my brother!
