hey i know there are some people here who go to college or are in high school and what not. How do you study? what techniques do you use? and how well does it work?

i completed college last year.... what worked best for me is pay more den enough attention during class and later that evening make sure to browse over what you did the whole day...Not necessarily to study it but just go over it to keep your mind awake of what you did that day....

weekends have fun with friends... party, club, smoke or whatsoever, this helps your brain to stay awake because too much is not good for you[ studying 7 days a week] sunday evening do a recap of what you studied the whole week... @ this point you gonna find some difficulties of other school work... thats when you approach your teacher for help... This worked best for me... Just keep in mind that focusing in class is the best key and eliminates the study work for you... And also get a sport to do to help your body generate brain cells... as we know that growing up means loosing some of our brain cells...

During examinations... its best you don't spend much time reading whats in the book, but for advice.... spend even much time learning how to answer the questions from the book, in my country SA we use past examination papers either from the net or other schools just to get used to the format of the examination paper....that will eliminate the element of surprise

Skip classes, take drugs and don't waste money on books. Then when the exams start, cheat, lie and steal. Then become a politician. :)

nice to know, didn't know exercise created brain cells, what i normally do depends on my class, i always rewrite the notes once for music and science since we receive a copy of the notes we did in class, the notes in science follow the book so i read the chapter once and then that is all i need for science. on top of writing the notes once for music i also make note cards and go through them until i get them all right about three times. in spanish i just make note cards of what i don't know since we don't get a copy of notes in class we do a bunch of shit. note cards are pretty much the foundation of my studying, one day of note cards (if they are already created) can make me learn everything depending on the number of cards of course. but i can learn around 30 in one day so i think it works best for me. and as you said i also find paying attention in class helps a ton. so that when i go to rewrite the notes im already familiar with it

i got all A's and the lowest grade i got on a quiz was a b+ from some simple mistake i made when i knew the answer. so im doing alright, but im trying to avoid the stress of cramming so..

what i should do is study more frequently since i normally put it off until the last few days. im gonna take your advice on studying then going back over it on Sunday.

lets get some more replies i know msi is not the only one here who has ever studied

for me, i just skim over my notes the day before a test and i am fine. if i study hard i end up doing worse because i put too much pressure on myself. if i just skim over my notes i am more relaxed.

it worked through high school and so far its working through college, but all my friends say im weird and they would never survive with my study habits, so i dont know.

i never look at my notes the day before the test....reason being... frequent updating of what you study daily helps you not to forget... i remember my last paper... i had :sex: all nite hence it was my gf's b'day lol but i passed anyway.. :naughty1:

I tend to listen to music or have TV Series playing the in background, but honestly, I find that once you get into the work you can kind of maintain yourself.

A lot of people get distracted by listening to music or having TV Series play in the background, but I gotta mix it up a little otherwise it bores me too much, I can't listen to the radio 8 hours straight, you know what I mean?

I do the same at work though (as I sit in front of a PC).

at secondery school (GCSEs) i revised by playing pokemon yellow on gameboy

at college (AS/A Levels) i revised by smoking weed and bunking lessons

at uni, i had no exams, smoked weed all the time, and did my work pretty solidly and did well

i have a book coming out called "I graduated uni whilst smoking weed"

oh and i always have music on, i cant concentrate in silence.

haha sounds pretty easy, im opposite i cant study if some music is on or movies, or people talking. more so music tho, even if it is an instrumental. it takes my mind off of the homework and into rhymes and i start thinking about rhyming.

I've never studied for anything in my entire life.
I was blessed with a very good working brain.
Just lack of motivation.
I dropped out of high school.
But I do alot of studying now, lyrical studying.
I pretty much lock myself in my room and keep in mind what I want to get out of my lyrics as far as styles go and such and compare to other lyricists that I really admire.
That probably helps absolutely no one, but I felt like posting :p

I always enjoyed school/university. Did the work during the year and didn't usually need to cram before exams much. When I get to thinking about something I usually get all involved and drift off in a daze cross checking facts and trying to visualise whatever it is I'm studying to the point of knowing all about it.

Keeping in mind I was a Human Sciences and Art student, that's how I studied. Weed often made it enjoyable, but recall the next day was a major problem.. :D
