There are a few that do it regularly, but it doesn't always happen. This is the sort of thing where I'll just add them as I remember them.

G-Code from Scarface does it for me lyrically.
Basta de Llamarme Asi from Fabulosos Cadillacs does it for emotionally.

songs that send shivers down my spine are:

don mcloskey - mr novacaine
pearl jam - indifference
pearl jam - Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town

Oliver Hart (a.k.a Eyedea) - Bottle Dreams
-this one probably more than others does it for me, so much i have to write what it's about. this song has brought tears to my eyes so many times because it's so tragic. it's about a young girl who is a prodigal violinist. she gets abused by her father and does not know how to deal with it, not understanding as she is only young. every day she writes a message in a bottle and sends it down the river hoping someone will find it, but every day it sinks. everyday she tries the same thing, hoping the bottle with stay afloat but it never does, and her inability to alter her situation (as a mere young girl) leads to her taking the only way out - by sinking the same as the bottle! truly chilling song.

Dream Theater's Spirit Carries On. Part of a fantastic concept album, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory.

"Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory, released in 1999, is Dream Theater's fifth studio album. It is a concept album that deals with the story of Nicholas and the discovery of his past life, which involves love, murder, and infidelity as Victoria Page."

This particular song I knew before I listened to the album, and as soon as I heard it, it was an instant favourite. The events covered in this part of the album are as such.

"Nicholas is again, and for the last time, under hypnosis and reiterating his belief that his soul will transcend, and that he need not fear death. He believes now that Edward was involved in the murder. He plans to expose the truth behind a crime that happened over 70 years ago. Victoria pipes up, in the present this time, and tells Nicholas that he should move on now, she has revealed the truth to him, but he should never forget her. At this point he basks in the peace that he feels as he has appeased Victoria's nagging and his own obsession. Nicholas now feels that the reason all of this happened, the ultimate message, is that death is not the end, but only a transition, as the Hypnotherapist has already pointed out."

Did you ever get around to it?

Anyway, I'm going to add Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. (Listen (http://www.tecdoc.ee/fonce/mjuusik/08)%20Nothing%20Else%20Matters.mp3)). I've seen a mate's band cover it as well, and it is quite special live, even if it was only an imitation.

Oasis - Live Forever used to do this for me, and so did "You Got The Love" by The Source ft. Candy Station, but not the original, the second/third re-release.

There was some Nujabes song that did this aswell.

Probably more aswell, but cant remember.

Bob Marley - Is This Love, how could I forget that? Classic tune which always gets me after a specific event a few months back.

Yeah, Dance with the Devil is pretty fucking impressive when you here it for the first time. That ending is intense.

Memento Mori
27th-March-2009, 01:03 PM
How do you mean ending? The end of the main bit, the entire extra bit as the ending, or just the ending of that extra bit?

When the devil wants to dance with you, you better say never,
'Cause a dance with the devil may last you forever.

Either way, those two lines, even on their own, are brilliant.

Yeah me too. Bit of a sensitive bastard under this mask, and I like country too remember.

I challenge any one to listen to Allison Krauss' "Jacobs Dream" and not get teary when she gets to the wailin' bit...

And Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" (or the Mike Watt cover in Ball Hog Or Tug Boat), would make the Queen play air guitar....;)

"Nessan Dorma". Pavarotti will do it to me, but Harry Secombes version brings me to tears. He's actually not that up to it, and has to really bust his boiler to get the high notes, which means, when he manages to hit them you crumble.

His version of Blood Of Our Fathers is pretty emotional too....

Memento Mori
29th-March-2009, 12:43 PM
Oh, yes. Nessun Dorma. This is one of the few that I think do it every time. I have a version sung by Nicolai Geddor that to be honest, I really don't like. But I also have a version sung by Paul Potts, who released an album based on the back of Winning Britain's got talent, where he sang it in the audition, and then in the final.

guarantees-atmosphere
pitch black noon- brother ali
holding on-rhyme asylum
ugly truth-louis logic
kim-eminem

that one song from sage francis, i think its called "black out on white night"
some lyrics-
"im the only thing thats living in this ghost town/ except for the clouds/ and man they're coming down/ if i knew my way around/ i wouldnt feel so dizzy"

and there really is too many songs to put here, i get shivers from songs easy, if i hear the heart in the lyrics i get shivers. even if the words mean nothing its just some battle raps, ill get shivers, chills and goosebumps if the lyrics are good and i can tell he means them

those are just songs that have done it on multiple occasions that i remember, i will post again when more come to mind
