The only Formula 1 I watch are the crashes lol. But road courses are intense. Not much racing in the US other than the most redneck sport in the world NASCAR.

We have our own version of the NASCAR. :)

It happens every shopping day at the supermarket by the fairer sex trying to get to those sales.

I'm a motorsport freak. F1, A1, NASCAR, Indy, GT's, Sportscars, Aussie Supercars, TOSCA, Sprints and Midgets on the dirt, but I've missed a lot of it lately. We have six sports channels and together with the Rugby, League and Union, I could spend my whole life in front of the telly. I think I the last F1 race I watched was at the Hungoring, and the last motorsport I watched was our boy Scott Dixon bringing home the bacon at mid Ohio in the Indys.

American motorsport is cool how they make the rules so tough everyone pretty much drives the same cars, but to me there is nothing quite like the all out war that is F1, or Le Mans. :D

If you only watch the crash highlights, then you don't need watch the boring bits. :)

French GP '79. Bloody classic mate!! Never been a big fan of Villeneuve, and I was hoping Arnoux would ping him, totally awesome race... one of the best ever, and notice... no blocking! One of my best mates is a Villeneuve/Ferrari fan and has named his son Gilles.

SENNA VS MANSELL

Spain '86. Another classic. I'm a big fan of the late great Brazilian master, but I thought he might be getting a bit past it around this time, and Nigel was at his best. Another awesome race and though I was happy for Ayrton, I was always a bit sympathetic that Nigel could never shake him off. I think F1 lost out when he went to CART racing in the States.

Don't remember this one, but a nice battle, and a gentlemanly one too, both drivers giving each other room. Nice one Strange E.

My big F1 heroes, (obviously) are New Zealand's Denny Hulme, Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, and Australia's Jack Brabham, as well as Senna, Schumacher, and, I always liked Carlos Montoya, though he never managed to do that well on the F1 circuit.

New Zealanders have always done well in motorsport, but there hasn't been all that much happening for us in Europe for a while now, most of our guys taking the US route. (Scott Dixon in Indy Cars and Wade Cunningham in Lights.) but a few are now making an effort in Europe. Keep an eye out for Brendon Hartley (19), Johnny Reid (27) and another young bloke, Earl Bamber (18) is making a big noise in Asia. Then there's our A1GP team, always a contender.

I think one of our Midget racers, Mike Pickens is heading to NASCAR too.

Cool stuff Strange E. Keep it coming bro. :afro:

PS. Your English can be a little hard to understand at times, and I bet our various English dialects are confusing you a little too. Just keep at it mate. I'm willing to help out where I can. If you don't understand something I say just ask. Ciao for now...

Just watching the crashes is like watching a Rugby game to see the dropped passes. A sign of a real motor racing fan is someone who goes "Awww fuck it!!! Not again!" every time there is a prang. :D There really is something magical about a slick passing move, or a valiant fight from the back of the field. There's no accountin' for taste eh mate? :^_^:

I have a mate, (YES I DO :) ), he would sit in front of the telly all day and watch the Indy 500, your not allowed to talk to him nor make any sudden moves that will distract him from watching the event. His toilet breaks are done during the add breaks, even his wife knows that unless the house is burning down, and ONLY, if the TV will be in danger, that she is not to interrupt him during this time.

I can take it for about 10 mins at a time, but to sit there hour after hour is beyond my attention spam to watch these cars go around and around; and what is worse, there are no guarantees that there will be any crashes to liven up the event, so what is the point.

Your right, each to their own. :)

Lol :P , poor drivers :P ;) ....

Ohhhh , therefore he is a very great fan of the Great Gilles , the Aviator :) ....

Yes , in 1992 Mansell won F.1 World Championship and he has decided to race in F. INDY , where he won the championship as a rookie ....

In 1991 retire of Piquet , in 1992 Mansell left F.1 , in 1993 Prost's retirement , and in 1994 third race SEnna dead , Schumacher had not rivals great as these four , the FAB FOUR , without to count persons like Patrese, Alboreto, De Angelis, Nannini and others :) ....
Not long before he died, and he was still hot...
Donington 1993 third race
Imola 1994 third race

How about Flavio Briatore and the Renault debacle Strange E? Bloody shameful eh? I hope Renault survives. Any banning and Renault will be gone for good I reckon, and F1 as a whole will suffer. :(

Hey, I just had a thought though, Renault owns Nissan. Maybe they could start a Nissan team. I'd like that! (I drive a Nissan 350Z track...)

It is eh? The whole country thing is great too. We (New Zealand) have to win it sooner or later. We came so bloody close '07/'08, then died last season. We have another strong team this year. Holland does great too dunnit? :D

The whole country thing is the greatest feature, it finally gives you someone to root for again, which makes any sport more watchable imo. Your driver has a Dutch passport aswell btw, Chris Van Der Drift. So that gives me two teams to root for lol:thumbsup:

I still don't watch/follow alot of motorsports anymore though, don't know why really.

Hah, oh yeah, he does too... Forgot about that. Still, my best mate is a third generation New Zealander of Dutch descent, and still carries a Dutch passport. He follows the Ajax soccer club and always supports Holland, but a few years back, through some trick of fate New Zealand played Holland in the Confederation Cup, and the buggar took his Orange jersey off and put on a Black one. Fair made me weep that did. :afro: (I think we managed to survive a 4-0 drubbing. An awesome effort for our team of amateurs.)

lol, good stuff. I'm not sure it wasn't your evil-eye that made him switch jerseys though. He probably cheered on the inside every goal lol.

I'm a Feyenoord fan btw, me and him would have to have a good talk before getting along lol.
