Hitler did, Bush did. Sure.

But only if you mean change as in how people think about the world and how they behave in it. Not physically.

yeh, definately, it depends on what you perceive as the world i guess. i like to believe that every action i take, big or small, can have an affect on the world, which is why i try to be a decent person.

Not physical change, but rather a change in peoples perceptions about and actions in the world.

Yeah, it really depends on how you look at it. For example, if you mean history then yes. Absolutely. It always starts as one person who inspires (or forces) others to follow.

if JFK was never shot what would the world be like?

*ahem* I will now explain the JFK Curry Conspiracy.

You see, when the shooter from the building was about to take his shot at JFK, a human (Lister), a cat/human creature (known only as Cat), a hologram of a dead human (Rimmer), and a robot (Kryton) warped into the room, thus knocking the shooter out the window after he only fired one shot.

Where Were They From?
A mining ship called the Red Dwarf, approximately 3 million years into deep space.

Why Did They Come?
They had run out of curry and Lister, someone who can't live without curry, decided they should go back in time and restock on curry. However the only sufficient supply of curry happened to be in that town at that particular time in history and they just happened to warp into that room.

What Happened Next?
Well, they tried coming back several times but pretty much just duplicated themselves and foiled the shooters plans... again.

Consequences
JFK recovered from the bullet wound and remained president. He was later black mailed by the Mob. They wanted him to do whatever they said or they would release pictures of him as a transvestite. So basically the Mob was in control of the government. The rest of the consequences are long and boring, and basically end with the very very likely possibility of the U.S. being nuked to Hell and back... And then to Hell again. Eventually JFK was tried and convicted for treason of something like that.

How Did They Fix It?
While JFK was in an armored truck being taken somewhere (presumably a prison or something) Lister warped into the truck and spoke with him. He convinced JFK to come with him.

So JFK was now with the Red Dwarf crew, back at the day of the shooting. JFK was dressed as a policeman and was hiding behind a fence with a rifle. Once the shooter in the building got his shot, JFK then took a shot at the JFK in the car, thus killing himself.

Conclusion
JFK shot and killed himself from behind the fence.

If you mean nukes, then yes, Bush could blow up most of everything... Except for Russia. Well, he could, but them Northern winds plus radiation would be devastating.

That's physical change. We've determined that anyone can affect physical change. What about ideological change?

Absolutely possible. Look at history. There are countless examples of ideological changes. They all take time, but they're definitely possible.

For an example of one person affecting ideological change in the world, Google Jody Williams. She started a campaign in the 1990's to ban antipersonel landmines. It's been met with a modicrum of success, but there is still much to be achieved.

Interesting.... *discreetly removes landmines from garage and gets rid of them*

But seriously though, that's pretty cool.

And now i'm gonna go to bed. I feel like i'm about to pass out and i'd prefer to be on something more comfortable then a computer desk when that happens.
