What are you doing to reduce your carbon footprint? If you wish to argue about whether or not global warming exists or whether or not it is a man-made problem, see the various other Global Warming threads, this is not the place. This is for constructive conversation about solving an issue that mankind now faces.
I've been replacing my lightbulbs with energy efficient ones. I bought a car which gets 35mpg on the highway. I've started buying more green and organic food products, which means they are made from products that don't use pesticides and also aren't transported clear across the country (which consumes fuel to get them to the stores). I unplug appliances when I'm not using them, there's no sense in powering clocks on 15 household appliances all the time. I refuel my car at nighttime, when it's not as hot outside, this reduces fumes in the air and you also get more for your money that way. I try to do my shopping on the way home from work, rather than coming home and going back out. I turn off the monitors on public computers after I am finished. I have also been planting more trees in my yard, grow a garden in the spring and summer, and have started a compost pile for yard waste (rather than having it hauled to a landfill I reuse it as fertilizer for my garden).
What are you doing, what are you planning to do, and what ideas have you picked up here or elsewhere that you hadn't considered?

I drive a fairly fuel efficient car, although not very often. We've always recycled and composted. I don't know. I walk or bike pretty much everywhere.

Perhaps you can start by adopting ideas you pick up from others.

what am i doing to reduce my carbon footprint? well for starters washing all the black carbon residue off my feet, otherwise it makes one hell of a mess on the carpets!
seriously though, the house i live in has only energy efficient bulbs, recycle everything that i can, walk everywhere as i don't own a car (which makes me part of a distinct minority for my age group). only place i don't walk is to get to university, where i use public transport as the distance is too far to walk.

Stopped using my car since I went to uni - I have no need for one, and couldn't afford it anyway. So for the next two and a half years minimum, that's one less car on the road.

damnn do you hate me? :(
but no, there is probably nothing i can do, as a 17 yr old that will impact enough.. the only thing i probably do is drive a 2litre 4 cylinder car.. i go to work, i go to school, i barely go out, i dont watch tv, i play sport. the only time i have i sleep basically.. and i cant really do anything to the house.. my parents would have to.. and they already have efficient lightbulbs (they changed all of them), solar hot water and etc..

They sure do :) and if you lucky enough to have a policeman watching you at the time of the burnout, in Australia, they can confiscate the car for a fist offence for 24 hours! How's that for helping the carbon footprint.

i live in australia.. so i know lol
one thing though, i remember hearing somewhere that if they confiscate your car a 3rd time.. it goes straight to the crusher. dunno if its true. i reckon they might sell it off though at a police auction as an unregistered vehicle.. but thats what happens if you clown around i guess.
my car cant do burnouts :) lol

Not sure, as with most things in Australia, every State and Territory has different rules and statutory regulations governing everything from getting your license to were your dog can run without being on a lead. I long for the day of a national set of laws and rules to govern us.
Although, I do like the thought of a fully blueprinted car being recycled as coke cans. lol
