Did anyone watch this game?

Sure, he was incompetent, but I don't think you can say he was biased in any way. If Chelsea had been a bit more positive and spent more time trying to get the ball in the net instead of crying about bad ref calls, they would not have been in such a vulnerable position towards the end of the game anyway.
http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/qq122/Cacteur/Smilies/cry-1.gifThe games over, they lost and the points are in the record books, get over it Chelsea fans, and move on. And people wonder where the term "whinging pom" came from..

Having watch Utd/Chelsea in last years final, and with the domestic form Barça have shown, it was them whom I wanted to go through. But make no mistake, I do think Chelsea were absolutely robbed.
If, as you say, that had played a more adventurous game, Barçelona would have torn them apart. Instead it was a tactical masterclass from Hiddink (and it wasn't that conservative, with both Anelka and Drogba playing) and great discipline again from the players. They limited the Catalans to just one shot on target, which unfortunately went in. For all Barça's possession, they could not break down the Chelsea defence.
Often, an offense leading to a penalty denies a goalscoring opportunity, so to say that Chelsea should have otherwise finished the game as a contest without them is not necessarily correct. Either way, I don't see how that referee has a future left at this level.

Last year, in the quarters of the World Rugby Union Cup, New Zealand played France at Cardiff Arms Park, in a game they were expected to romp home with. The winning try by France came after a blatant forward pass, which was seen by everyone except the ref. The All Blacks, seeing the forward pass dropped off the chase expecting to hear the whistle. It never came and France won the game. It was revealed afterwards that the linesmen were instructed not to call forward passes.
We were totally robbed, and yet again, the best Rugby team in the world came home from a Rugby World Cup empty handed. Did we ask that the ref be sacked? Did we question his credentials? Hell no! We wanted the coach and all the top players sacked. You ALWAYS play to the fucking whistle. You learn that at Primary school in New Zealand. Referees are not droids and will always make mistakes. You have to play beyond that, especially if you are professional.
I do love soccer/football, but the overpaid Hollywood celebrities that pass for top players these days in the pommy premier league leave me cold I'm afraid Memento. Watching the Chelsea players running around wailing at the ref after that first miscall made me want them to lose. Sure they was robbed, but like I said, you get that in the big games.. suck it up nancy boys...;)

Oh, don't get me wrong, all this simulation is dreadful. I'd like to see even a simple dive punished with a straight ban, but it will never happen as a) it would be hard to prove, and b) it's revered as part of the game in some countries, which is also something I really can't stand.
Refs do make mistakes; I would know as my team's been on the receiving end of a lot this season. And for the most part, they do even out. However, whilst I might be able to get away with the odd mistake at my job, if I was repeatedly making them, then I would face some sort of action.
And as a subnote, there are some referees in the EPL who I literally dread when I see they are in charge of a match with Newcastle.

I agree MM. You'll have to pardon the rant. I spend so much time moaning about Premier League celebrity players that most of my mates stand up and leave if I start up. Can't see why.. it's not as if I moan all the time.. I mean there's this, the war in Iraq, the Blues deadshit coaches, the pathetic state of modern metal, the rights of indigenous people, the capitalist conspiracy, unrealistic health service expectations, the price of milk, fucking farmers, Dolly's tits, you know... the usual stuff. I'm actually quite content most of the time.. :D

Drogba's reaction was classic, "It's A Disgrace!".

Funny, as I think Utd. would have beaten Chelsea last night had Barça not got that last minute winner.

Yeah, Barça timed both goals perfectly. First 10 minutes was all ManU.

Q. What do Nemanja Vidic and Katie Price have in common?
A. They both regret letting that black man come inside them.
