There is no limit to the amount of people you can put, and they do not have to be listed in any order.
1. My mother - my mother is a head strong, generous, and loving woman. She believes she is her brother's keeper, and fights ignorance and hate with love. Just thinking about how much she means to me, makes my core tear from admiration.
2. Zora Neale Hurston - Her stamp on American Literature is evident. She was an eccentric Black girl in the height of Harlem's renaissance, and even though pressure from the community pushed her to fit in. She was herself without apology. I can dig that.
3. Oprah - There are a million things I can say, but one the most vital reasons I admire her. Is she has firm christian beliefs, but she lives her beliefs, not shove them down people throat. I really respect that.
4. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - He fulfilled his God given destiny. ( which is no small feat.)
5. My Great-Grandmother - She was born in the hills of Georgia to freed salves. She moved to New Jersey and went on to become a successful business woman. She lived through times when Black Americans had no rights and were treated less than human, but she made her own way. At the end of her life she raised 15 kids (6 adopted) and owned many acres of land.
The list is endless, but for now this is what I got...(add more later.)

oh this is a fun one.
1. Thomas Matthew DeLonge Jr. - my inspiration into music, completely.
2. Mark Twain - a writer who has kept my nose in books for years :)
3. Chris Preece - with every album, he gives my screaming a new vocal range that i push myself to reach.
4. My Band - i have written hundreds of pages of lyrics in my life. these 4 guys (1 girl) are the only people who can look at me and say, "dude. this fucking sucks. why did you write this?"
5. The Warped Tour Community - for giving me a reason to freaking live til the next summer.
;)
that WAS a fun one.

"We all stand on the shoulders of giants"
I have way too many to list, and for various reasons, but I love that saying because it is true and very evident when people give advice and guidance.

If I had to pick one.. it would be my maternal Granpa. 1898 - 1986. The bloke was a real live saint, and the only true christian I've ever met. He couldn't read or write and my Granma would spend hours reading the Bible to him. He could fix anything, drive anything, from a truck to a bulldozer, catch anything with a fishing line or a shotgun, plant and grow anything, and would take you into the bush and entertain you for hours with his stories of the 'old people' and their ways. A huge strong man, even in his later years, he never raised a hand to anyone, and would scold you with a belly laugh loud enough to wake the dead. He is also the reason I am so bloody clever. ;) I dearly love the man.
He mihi pono ki a koe e Granpa. E pouri ana te Ao i tou haerenga, no reira, moe mai ra e koro, i te moenganui o ta tatou tipuna me te Arikinui. E moe taku kahurangi, e moe, e moe.
I praise you truthfully Granpa, the world is sad with your leaving us, so sleep sir, at the great sleeping place of the ancestors and the Great Chief, sleep my precious, sleep, sleep.
However, in slightly broader terms....
Nelson Mandela, Mandiba, father of South Africa, a man of peace and reconciliation in a world of war and acrimony. Every year, just before Christmas, Auckland has a kind of shindig, a Christmas in The Park thing, where we bust out the picnic baskets, grab a few cold ones and go watch an outdoor concert and fireworks at the City Domain. One year Nelson Mandela turned up with Helen Clarke, (our PM at the time and another of my heroes,) to thank us for our support in the struggle against apartheid, and pleading with us to support the new rainbow nation in it's effort to move beyond the past. He seemed to reach inside and talk directly to you. It was weird, and soon 200,000 drunk Aucklanders were sobbing in their beer and wine glasses. I'll never forget that. There is something truly spiritual about that joker, really.....

My grandma is my first hero.. She taught me many things from living off the land by means of hunting, fishing and farming. There was a kind word for everyone she meet and never judged anyone. Didn't believe in the strong government regulations that strangled peoples freedom of choice or beliefs. She took faith in god and in peoples abilities to use there on minds. I only hope I can live up to what she taught me was right.
My wife is my second.. Hell she can put up with me...she has got to be a strong person.
