Just another example of what atrocities are carried out in the name of religion.
History is full of examples of criminal acts done in the name of a religious beliefs.

I know! I had thought people had at least gotten a little better. But they are still hunting witches. I personally do not believe in religion. Nor do I understand how someone could standby a god that allows this to happen, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. But I respect everyones opinion and beliefs, but when you torture innocent people because of your own insecurities. that is just down right sick and unacceptable.

All criminal acts are committed by humans, they just use some convenient namesake to justify their actions.
The type of religion matters not either.
They are all bad as each other.

Just using religion as a scapegoat again, it amazes me this still happens in the world.

Religion always has been used to commit all types of foul and disgusting acts all over the world. We all know that, but this is not God' s doing. Jesus would never condone in this. I am grateful that there is a man there that fights for these children. I fell sick to my stomach. It angers me deeply, being a christian, to see anyone use a message of love and understanding, and turn into a message of hate. I don't understand how anyone can get hate out of love. The sermons of Christ are clear. But man doesn't read them, rather they listen to what someone tells them what it says. I am deeply disturb by this. A child?

god suposedly wiped out the whole world with a flood. you call that a message of love? thats called mass murder, the biggest mass murder.and he also supposedly doesnt allow people into heaven if they dont believe in him and dont accept jesus as their savior, no matter how "good" and sinless they may be, i dont think hes very kind
but about the post i cant see the video right now because im at school its blocked, so i hope i remember to look at it later, it seems interesting.

That was in the old testament. The way God relates to man has changed alot over time. The Gospel of Christ which altered alot of Jewish interpretation of God's law is completely embodied with love.

damn you replied fast, and oh alright, i dont have anything to rebuttal with because i haven't read much of the bible. but im pretty sure no matter which testament, if you dont think jesus is your savior then you go to hell am i correct?
when i was in church i was told all i have to do was accept him as my savior and i will go to heaven

and about main topic, i think torturing is wrong because you shouldnt find pleasure in anothers pain because you gain nothing from it. but who is to say killing is wrong? its only our society that thinks it is wrong. im sure cavemen didnt think a man was messed up in the head if he killed another caveman for his food. but now a days if a guy murders he must be "insane" maybe he is just thinking outside the box
but i probably couldnt watch the video, im not good with real blood and gore and shit like that, fake heads getting ripped off im fine with. but if its real a ok sized cut will make me shiver and feel weird

You only need to hear the first couple words..
"Amen! Amen! Amen!"
Spreading the name of the Lord my ass..
They tell them not to wear condoms cos it is against GOD. If I wanted someone to govern everything I put on me, or what contraceptive I use, I will go ask the mrs ok. Thank you..
The people there do not know anything about AIDS because the Church does not let them be taught, or manipulates them after! Some think that they get AIDS from not showering after sex, or because they did not do something exactly right.. and the church propagates this..
The bullshit they spread there is completely hypocritical. But what do they care.. look how much they are making from the use of Diamonds.. Africa is just another example of a country that is being exploited before it can achieve its own wealth from its own natural resources..

Church's mislead people all the time. It is hard to find a good church. Anyway, it is kinda true, but is more complex than that it is more about lifestyle and righteousness. Do the research if you really want to know. Matthew chapter 5, is a good place to start.

on account of the fact that i think the bible is fiction i will not read it, im sure ive been mislead and do not know everything the bible has to offer but just believing that we were once single celled organisms makes me disregard all religion. but i will say im sure if i read it i would like it, i do like some of the things the bible has to say and the points it makes, considering i was raised Christian. I still find my self wanting to pray in times of need, but i dont. (correction i just read it,matthew chapter 5, a couple of quotes i liked)
i do like churce tho, i like the atmosphere. more so youth activities at churce. every wendsday there is a youth sermon that my girlfriend goes to so i will sometimes go with her even tho i dont believe in that stuff. i just like the atmosphere, everyone is happy, no judgement , accepting, it puts me in a good mood
i believe more in living your own lifestyle and living up to your standards making YOURSELF happy thru your actions, morals are morals no matter you call them commandments or not

The trouble with quoting scriptures all the time, is that they are words that have been created, manipulated or changed by people, they are not the words of any god. They are propaganda to put their bent on things to suit their cause.

Nothing at all against you Kenshi (just for the sake of argument), but what I made red above made me LOL. It seems that most if not all Christians are the MOST judgemental of others than anyone, in my personal experience. Of course it might be different in youth, cuz the youth group I was in was alright.

I don't even need to say anything lol, the posts I thanked have said it already!!
hahaha
Look, quoting some fictional book means nothing. I could quote Harry Potter or 1984 or any of those other books if they had something interesting that displayed human behaviour. Would it be any different? No. Context is though.
The astrotheological hybrid that the bible is, a fictional story, is written in a way that not only describes how the Universe and its stars worked [and still work] but also in the image of man.
I do not need to read quotes, to know what man is capable of..
The Universe exists in duality.. and as you are GOD, why put your power into a mythical, non-existant object? You are the omni-present, you are the omni-potent, you are the generator, the orchestrator, and the destroyer. You have every ability you want and need, and as you evolve through time, and consciousness expands, you will see how different life becomes..
If, you feel you need to express your power of thought through religion go ahead, but what anyone has to say, I will read without any reference to religion within their post, because the true essence of the person is that where it is not mentioned.
Don't give your power to something that is not there. It is yours, keep it. :)

Do not judge Kenshi. He is in search for his meaning, like we all are. Even if you decide that You are God or that God doesn't exist. In essence, that is your definition of your existence. That is where your life has lead you. I always laugh at how people complain about others being judgmental, while judging people themselves.

Frankly, :lmao: You speak of these things with such authority. Do you realize that the books that you have read to come to these conclusions are, in fact, fiction, and based on theory. You believe what you by faith as much as any religious person. Why are you so angry?
Rudolf

Why are you so angry?
I think you are confusing frustration with anger.
Nothing frustrates a person more than having some "holy than thou" individual quoting scriptures about their god/faith/religion.
