what would you say is the greatest album ever ever
i think i have come to the conclusion that slint's spiderland can have this title as far as i am concerned. it is unbelievably perfect, and proved to be so so important to music after its release for bands of a similar ilk

so what is the greatest of all

wow, slint's spiderland is a pretty impressive choice....

for me...i'm probably torn---either Jeff Buckley's "Grace", The Smiths "The Queen is Dead", or The Beatles "Revolver"....there's just too much great stuff out there for different reasons

Reel Big Fish - Our Live Album is Better Than Your Live Album!!

Reel Big Fish is an amazing ska band, and even with all of the energy in their songs, when they play live, they're off the charts. They always use the same skits, and almost word for word the same dialog, but still, it's an awesome CD.

Pearl Jam - Vs. is probs my fave album of all time due to the fact i used to listen to it as a child (stealing my brother's copy haha) and still love it to this day!

i woulnd't necessarily say it is the greatest album ever though, just my favourite :) it's quite weird that i find this album one of my favourites even though i'm majorly a hip hop head and 99% of my musical collection consists of hip hop.

Definately Rakim. I couldnt think of any albums by him that really set the bar. but Rakims new Stuff is killing all the new rappers.

Taste is too subjective for their to be one all encompassing greatest album of all time. A couple of my favorite albums are:

Opeth's Blackwater Park

Dream Theater's Images and Words or Scenes from a Memory

Pain of Salvation's Remedy Lane

DJ Shadow's ...Endtroducing

Tangerine Dream's Phaedra

I think its impossible to decide on one definitive album to be labelled the greatest ever. I cant do it anyway.

I agree.. totally... but here's a few candidates no-one has mentioned yet.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Smash Hits
The Byrds - Sweetheart Of The Rodeo
Led Zeppelin III
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
Joe Cocker - Cocker Happy
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon (although I hate it!)
Janis Joplin - Pearl
David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
Lou Reed - Rock N Roll Animal
2Pac - Thug Life
BTnH - The Collections
Coolio - My Soul
Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks...
Metallica - The Black Album

... better stop, keep thinking of more. My Beatles pick would be the White album.... Il Problemo is right....
