anyone who is in to the real hip hop. who is your favorite MC and who do you think the best is?
im trying to prove a point to me uncle. he's saying eazy-e has more skill than vinny paz. and that how much money you make shows how good you are.

Probably....

I dunno tbh, struggling to think of somebody whos back catalogue I can listen to all the way through and they still come out with great lines like DOOM. Hes my favourite but I wouldnt say he was the best, if that makes sense. Not sure who I would say is the best, probably Rakim.

eazy is shit.....dont get me wrong i liked the guy but as mega said he didnt write anything,
notorious B.I.G, Rakim and big Pun are the greatest ever imo

^^^^^^^^^^^
hes the greatest in my eyes...i dunno ive always liked him,
he only made a couple albums yeah but look at how many rappers have used his lines,
ready to die is the best album ever made IMO..
put the east back on the map...i know illmatic is brilliant and 36 chambers but they didnt sell....biggies album didnt have no where near the great producers illmatic had yet not only was it critically acclaimed but it was a commercial monster unlike the wu and nas,
and look at the mad singles he made
juicy
one more chance
hypnotize
big poppa
etc etc
dont get me wrong i like tecnique i think hes dope but after a while he bores me...his constant talk about world issues gets on my nerves..just 2 much preaching imo

No idea at all. Raw Poetic is pretty crazy and I really like his style. Too many amazingly talented motherfuckers.

i wouldn't agree with you on vinne paz being anywhere near the best mc! his raps bore me to be honest, i'd only listen to JMT for stoupe these days. he just sounds like he's listing random threats all the time, you notice it in almost every song of his. e.g.:
i'm gonna smack you,
then i'm gonna whack you,
then i'm gonna crack you
obviously not quite so simple, but the principle exemplifies what im talkin about.
anyways as for favourite mc, that's definitely a hard choice. hm.... well despite not releasing much in terms of solo work, i'd have to say chali 2na of the now disbanded group, jurassic 5. he's got it all, ridiculous flow, incredibly intricate lyrics (i've never once heard him drop a verse which hasn't made me smile from ear to ear!), and perhaps best of all (strangely!) the most distinctive, deepest and best voice in rap! his solo album has been coming for about 239874897 years, if it turns out to be shit (whenever it finally gets released) i'll no longer have a reason to live! if you disagree just check out any of the shit he did on ozomatli's self titled album :trustme:

i know you guys are goanan think this is werid but OTHELLO is FREAKING AWsome mc to me anywayz hes got that nice flow to his songs and that nice rhyme but the thing is hes like one of the guys that you feature in your songs hes not like the best guy if he does a song by himself odd never thought of why lol

I listen to a lot of scarub and del the funky homosapien. I don't listen to too many mainstream rappers tho. mainstream id probably say andre 3000

Big Jess of Unknown Prophets is probably my favorite, the topics, the way he paints pictures, i love it. 'My Night' off his last solo album is exactly why i feel this guy is the shit, he even "disses" Slug without being dissrespectfull...
Who's the best...hard question, i think Sage Francis is untouchable when it comes to being poetic and original. Nas is a obvious contender too. Grieves is insane aswell.

no i dont think vinnie is the best, i agree with you. he gets tiring after hearing him so much, he doesn't really say anything. i was just saying that he has skill, which you cant deny. my favorite MC right now, would probably be Sage Francis because i love the way he applies his skill. or the members of rhyme asylum.
best MC i would say is Rakim.

Different style different schemes
I have favourites for different things
Overall Music: Hieroglyphics (I know emcee, plural but fuck it)
Flow: Thats solely based on opinion - i love Commons flow
Subject: Canibus / Immortal Technique / Lowkey
Punch Lines: AOTP - jus seem to hit hard with them
Production wise: 9th Wonder (i know emcees but fuck it)
Best Album: Binary Star - masters of the universe
close second: K-Otik - Universal
This question is to hard to many variables
I love emcees for different reasons - lists are just from the top of the head
to many ill emcees - for me to seriously answer this question - I'd probally have to write a report,to figure it out myself.
